At 4pm today Sean McKeown the Director at Fota Wildlife Park welcomed the very 1st visitor through the new entrance of the park. Sinead O'Regan and her family from Belgooly were the first through the €4m entrance plaza and was handed a conservation membership worth €165 for being the first through the gates.
Although this afternoon was a test run the new entrance is expected to be open to customers in the coming day's. The new entrance includes a new plaza area, 5 ticket kiosks, new gift shop, cafe, animal exibhit and childrens playground. In addition to this the existing entrace will be turned into an education complex, this is due to be completed in October.
