Irish pop sensations Jedward met Ireland’s favourite puppet Bosco at Fota Wildlife Park today as part of a promotional tour for their end of month concerts in Cork & Limerick.
The twins were on their very first visit to Cork’s biggest tourist attraction and were greeted on arrival by hundreds of screaming fans. The pair first got to see the popular cheetah run where they witnessed them running at high speed inside Sean McKeowns office, Director of Fota Wildlife Park. The twins then went on a train trip through the park where they saw giraffes, bison, gibbons, oryx and a zebra named after them called Zedward.
Following their trip on the train John & Edward were welcomed on stage by Bosco to a huge reaction from the crowd. Jedward stayed on stage for over 10 minutes where they did an interview with Bosco, danced gangnam style with park mascot Larry the Lemur and sang an accapella version of their hit song Lipstick.
Speaking about the visit Head of Marketing for the park Stephen Ryan said “the boys are really nice guys who were really interested in the animals and loved that we have Bosco here all summer as they grew up watching it on TV”. After meeting a couple of fans they also spent time with some of the staff at the park posing for pictures and telling them about their upcoming tour of Australia.
Jedward are performing two concerts in Munster in July with a gig in Cork’s Neptune Stadium on July 26th and Limericks UL arena on July 27th. Mr Ryan believes it won’t be too long before they are back adding “it was their first visit to Fota Wildlife Park but having spoken to them they are keen to come back and do a guided behind the scenes tour with our head warden Willie Duffy so hopefully we will see them again soon.
Bosco is performing every Monday – Friday in Fota Wildlife Park until August 23rd with 3 shows daily at 12, 2 & 4pm.
A limited number of Signed tickets for Jedward’s Cork concert are available to buy at the park or tickets are also available to buy on www.jedwardincork.com
