How To Get Here

Fota Wildlife Park is an ideal Family Trip from a number of locations in Ireland with it only being 20mins from Cork City, 1hr 30mins from Killarney, 1hr 45 mins from Limerick or Waterford City and 3hrs from either Galway or Dublin.

By Car

Fota Wildlife Park is situated 15km east of Cork City, just off the N25 the main Cork to Waterford road. To find the park when driving take the exit for Cobh/Fota (R624) on the N25 and drive 3.5km on the cobh road past the Fota Island Resort, the entrance to the park is on your right just before Belvelly bridge.

By Train


There is a Direct Rail Service to FOTA Wildlife Park as the park has its own railway station. To get to the park by train take the Cork to Cobh commuter rail and stop at Fota as per the map below this trip takes 10 -15 minutes. This train connects to intercity trains to Dublin at Kent Station. Visit www.irishrail.ie to view timetables.

By Ferry

If you have arrived in Cork by ferry to Ringaskiddy you can shorten your route to Fota Wildlife Park considerably by taking the cross river ferry from Glenbrook to Carrigaloe.

The park is also just nine minutes by car or train from the Cruise Terminal at Cobh making it easy for any day visitors to the area by cruise to see one of the country's top attractions.

By Air

From the Cork Airport take the Jack Lynch tunnel to avoid the city centre and arrive on Fota Island in fifteen minutes. See above directions by road. The park is 3hours away from Dublin airport and 2 hours from Shannon Airport.
