Are you open?

What happens to my Fota Wildlife Park annual pass/membership now that you have been closed for 8 weeks?
Your ongoing support as an Annual Pass holder is most important to us, and we would like to suspend any lost time and add this onto your expiry date now that we have re-opened. If you have a specific question regarding your Annual Pass or renewal we would ask that you email us on bookings@fotawildlife.ie. 

Please note that this lost time added applies to annual passes purchased/taken out at Fota Wildlife Park only until further notice.

I bought web tickets, what should I do?
Your web tickets are valid for use within 12 months of purchase. Please note you will now need to pre-book a time slot here.

Are Fota Wildlife Park minimising the risk to staff who will be caring for the animals?
We are following the latest Government, HSE and World Health Organisation (WHO) advice and continue to review measures in place daily. Our animal care teams have always had a strict set of health and safety measures in place for both the animals in the park and our staff’s safety but we have additional precautions in place to ensure continuity of care and husbandry.

How can I support Fota Wildlife Park during this time?
Fota Wildlife Park is a not-for-profit organisation and we do not receive any government funding. We rely on gate receipts, memberships, and sponsorships to fund the park and our various conservation projects.  If you would like to help us during this time, here’s how:

- purchase e-tickets (which are emailed directly and valid for 12 months from date of purchase)  
- Sponsor an Animal for €60 (currently not available on our mobile site – please purchase on desktop here

Can I visit Fota Wildlife Park?

The park is open with additional precautionary measures in place. You MUST PREBOOK A TIMESLOT before visiting the park – Please Read ALL the details here before booking. (link to reserve page)

There is no payment at this stage, prices are a guide only and any concessions i.e. Family tickets / booking with an annual pass will amended at admissions. Please ensure you book the correct number of visitors coming with you including all adults, children and under threes attending

Are all the facilities in the Park fully open as normal?
No, there are lots of different measures in place. Including a one-way system (please see map here) and some things within the park are closed, please find full details here.

Is the Irish Rail train to Fota Wildlife Park running?
Public transport is currently restricted to essential travel, Transport for Ireland have info available on their site here - www.transportforireland.ie/news/covid-19-information/ -

I want to book for a specific date not listed, can I do this?
No. Prebooking is available a few days in advance of visiting. We will continue to add slots throughout the week. Please check back later to find more dates.

I am unable to book my desired timeslot, what can I do?
If you are unable to book the slot and a message states registration is closed, this slot is full, pick an alternative time or date to book.

Is there a number I can ring to book a timeslot?
No. You must book the slot online. Please Read here for full details before booking.

I booked for the wrong amount of people, is it okay to bring an extra person?
We would ask that all of your party is booked in in advance, such as all adults, children and under threes. However, please email info@fotawildlife.ie or call 021 4812 678 ext 210 to amend this (however we cannot guarantee there will be additional space).

Can I change or cancel my booking?
Once the slot is booked you will have to cancel (see how to below) and try to re-book. We cannot guarantee after cancelling you will be able to re book the same slot, you may have to pick an alternative date or time.
To cancel a booking please forward your booking confirmation email to info@fotawildlife.ie and request a cancellation. Once it has been cancelled, we will confirm by email and you can book an alternative time.

I have an annual pass but there is a price coming up for my booked timeslot.
Please select 'Annual Pass Adult' or 'Annual Pass Child'. If you accidentally selected Adult or Child instead there is no payment at this stage, prices are a guide only and any concessions i.e. Family tickets / booking with an annual pass will amended at admissions.

What happened to my annual pass while the park was closed?
Time lost during closure will be added on, as each annual pass effected has different factors involved please call our Annual Pass Office to update or seek clarification on 021 4812 678 ext 210.

I live outside of the 5K radius. Can I visit?
Not until after the 8th June. Fota Wildlife Park is exhorting everyone to follow official advice at all times and for only those living within the five-kilometre radius of Fota to travel to the Park during phase one of the government’s Roadmap for Re-opening Businesses. The priority at this time is for the continued safety and well-being of visitors, staff members and of course the animals, so please to adhere to the recommended social distancing advice.

I’m trying to book a timeslot but the price coming up seems wrong, what can I do?
The booking of the timeslots is to ensure numbers are spread out across the day, the price is a guide only. Any concessions ex. Family tickets / booking with an annual pass will amended at admissions. Please ensure you book the correct number of visitors coming with you.

Do you have a policy or rate for Special Needs / Carers?
If your usual concession admission is not listed on our booking system, please book the appropriate number of Adults and Children online, and this will not affect the  Special Needs / Carers policy when you arrive to pay, however, you will need to communicate this on entry as normal. Our booking system is to ensure control of numbers queueing / entering the park

How long are you allowed to stay in the park?
We ask that visitors dwell a maximum of three hours.

Are the toilet facilities open?
There are toilets are both ends of the park open, near the entrance/exit and halfway through the park. These are cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Are there hand washing stations in the park?
Additional hand sanitiser dispensers are placed at key points throughout the Park. Additional signage to promote hand washing and best hygiene practices has been posted throughout the park.

Are the picnic tables in use and are they being washed throughout the day?
Yes. They picnic tables in use in the park are being washed regularly throughout the day. We advise everyone to take personal caution and hygiene measures throughout their visit.

Is drinking water available at any point in the park?
While there are two drinking fountains within the park (at reception and in Mu Chang Chai Asian Food Market), we advise anyone visiting at the moment to bring any food and drinks they require with them.

Is the large marquee open for picnics?
Yes, it is open, and seating and tabling has been placed throughout according to social distancing guidelines.

Is the tour train running at the moment?
No. However the train will be available during a later phase in line with the government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society & Business.

Are the playgrounds open?
No. However the playgrounds will re-open at a later phase in line with the government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society & Business.

Are daily Feeding Times and Animal Talks and Children’s Activities taking place?
No. This is to avoid any crowds gathering.

Are the Tropical House and Madagascan Village open as normal?
No. Both are closed until further notice.

Is the wheelchair loan suspended?
No. It is still available, and the wheelchairs touchpoints are sterilised before and after use. Please note these are still limited in availability and on a first-come, first-served basis.
