FAQ's in Relation to COVID-19 About Us

Are you open?
Following the latest Government advice regarding all non-essential businesses and public amenities, Fota Wildlife Park has taken the decision to temporarily close its gates to the public for the foreseeable future.

Will the animals be affected during this closure?
Please be assured that our dedicated animal care team and essential staff will continue to provide the same level of care, husbandry and attention that all our animals receive throughout the year. While the gates may be closed to the public our teams of committed and experienced rangers and staff will remain on duty throughout this period.

What happens to my Fota Wildlife Park annual pass/membership now you are closed?
Your ongoing support as an Annual Pass holder is most important to us, however, as you cannot visit us at present, we would like to suspend any lost time and add this onto your expiry date once we do re-open. If you have a specific question regarding your Annual Pass or renewal we would ask that you email us on bookings@fotawildlife.ie.

Please note that this lost time added applies to annual passes purchased/taken out at Fota Wildlife Park only until further notice.

I bought web tickets, what should I do?
Your web tickets are valid for use within 12 months of purchase, you can use them at a later date.

When will Fota Wildlife Park reopen?
We cannot say for certain.  Please keep an eye here on the website and on our social channels for any updates.

Are Fota Wildlife Park minimising the risk to staff who will be caring for the animals?
We are following the latest Government, HSE and World Health Organisation (WHO) advice and continue to review measures in place daily. Our animal care teams have always had a strict set of health and safety measures in place for both the animals in the park and our staff’s safety but we have additional precautions in place to ensure continuity of care and husbandry.

How can I support Fota Wildlife Park during this time?
Fota Wildlife Park is a not-for-profit organisation and we do not receive any government funding. We rely on gate receipts, memberships, and sponsorships to fund the park and our various conservation projects.  If you would like to help us during this time, here’s how:

- purchase e-tickets (which are emailed directly and valid for 12 months from date of purchase)
- Sponsor an Animal for €60 (currently not available on our mobile site – please purchase on desktop here

Please allow extra time for any delays in the delivery of Sponsorship Packs
