Fota Wildlife Park are currently recruiting for a Gates & Retail Supervisor.

The Gates & Retail Supervisor will work with the Head of Marketing and successfully implement the effective, efficient management and maximisation of the retail and admissions functions of Fota Wildlife Park.

The role manages the daily operational activities of both retail and admissions in balance with ensuring visitor satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

This is a full-time permanent role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the Admissions and Retail departments at Fota Wildlife Park, with the Assistant Gates Supervisor and Assistant Retail Supervisor reporting directly to this role.
  • Implementation of Annual plans for commercial products (including category management and visual merchandising) for pricing, and for an effective sales plan.
  • Agreeing and implementing KPIs for the below commercial areas:

-Admissions

-Retail

-Experiences

  • Lead on team recruitment, development and training including leadership on customer service training and initiatives for both the admissions and retail teams.
  • Work with Head of Marketing on launching a customer service training and monitoring programme with team.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement a CRM system linked to the EPOS/annual pass sales and a robust system of customer insight collation and through insight and consumer data, develop a deeper understanding of the customer base to influence commercial decisions that will benefit the business.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferably within leisure and retail sectors.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to discuss commercial performance verbally and in written reports.
  • Customer centric focus.
  • Commercially literate and use of management information reporting and business case creation desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Confident professional manner and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively and proactively ensure day to day communication to staff as well as line managers on operational plans and performance.
