Fota Wildlife Advent Animals Calendar of Events - December 2019

We are running our annual ‘Advent Animals’ events every Sunday in December at Fota Wildlife Park.

You can enjoy a special feeding time and informative talks from our rangers with a different featured animal each week.

Starting Sunday, December 1st at 13.00 in the Tropical House there will be a special talk from our rangers on how the care for the tropical fish and other species in the specially heated and temperature-controlled indoor habitat, which is now also home to the free roaming Two-toed sloth, Mattheo, who joined the collection earlier this year. The talk will also include a feeding for Matheo, but we cannot guarantee he will be awake.

The Tropical House, which opened in 2014, features endangered reptiles, eye popping amphibians and fluttering butterflies. The building was part funded by SECAD (South & East Cork Area Development) and the development is also home to a state-of-the-art veterinary facility which allows for injured or sick animals to be treated at Fota Wildlife Park. Advent Animals continues its series of talks, Christmas themed feeding times (where appropriate) and questions and answers sessions with the Rangers.

We are also running several competitions across our social media for the month, with chances to win animal toys, passes to the wildlife park and more!

To be sure to to in with a chance to win, follow us on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
