Fota Wildlife Park Poetry Trail Competition

Fota Wildlife Park Poetry Trail Competition

Budding young poets, how would you like to see your poem in print, or win a trip to Fota Wildlife Park for your school or your family?

Building on last year's success, Fota Wildlife Park has teamed up again with Poetry Ireland to offer children aged 5-12 a chance to win a trip to Fota Wildlife Park for their entire class on Poetry Day Ireland, Thursday 26 April 2018. Winning poems will also appear on a special poetry trail map, which visitors to Fota can enjoy from Poetry Day Ireland until supplies run out!

See your poem in print
Twenty animal-themed poems will be selected to appear on a special Poetry Trail Map of Fota Wildlife Park. Visitors to Fota will be able to use the map to read poems about the many animals who live in Fota as they follow the trail around.

Top tip!
Have a look at all the content on our website to find out exactly what animals and plants are in the park. While everyone loves lions, giraffes, rhinos and monkeys, don’t forget that you can also take inspiration from some of the less well-known species like oryx, gibbons, mangabeys, tapirs and more.
