Step into September at Fota Wildlife Park

Step into September at Fota Wildlife Park

This Saturday the 15th of September is International Red Panda Day 2018 and Fota Wildlife Park are asking you to come and say goodbye to our twin male Red pandas, Koda and Lionel who will be leaving for Longleat Safari Park in the UK this month. The twin males have been named in honour of the Irish rock band – Kodaline, who filmed their music video’s ‘Ready to Change’ at Fota last year and the location fees were donated to the Red Panda Forest Guardian Project in Nepal. The Red panda is officially classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as endangered.

To raise awareness for this species during International Red Panda Day 2018 this Saturday 15th September Fota have devised the following events which are free with entry/admission:

• Wish Koda and Lionel “Bon Voyage” with a special feeding time and talk with their Ranger at 2 pm Sat 15th September
• Red Panda themed arts and crafts from 11 am to 2 pm and Red Panda themed face painting from 3 pm to 5 pm Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September in the Entertainment Marquee.
