Support Curriculum Learning With a Trip to Fota Wildlife Park
Subjects we cover include:
- Science
- Biology
- Geography
- Business
- CSPE
- Climate Action & Sustainable Development
Your students can learn all about biodiversity, ecosystems, global habitats, and Practical Field Ecology. There is plenty of inspiration to be drawn from the animals in our care, landscape, and flora.

Every year we welcome students from Montessori, Primary School and Secondary schools, along with their teachers and parents to Fota Wildlife Park.
Each educational trip can be tailored to specific lessons, making them ideal for students of all ages and levels.
Did you know visual experiences are proven to improve understanding rather than text? If your students are struggling to understand topics such as biodiversity or ecosystems, seeing them in real life helps reinforce learning.

Fota Wildlife Park offers a wide range of educational resources to support teachers and their class during the trip.
In addition to personalised tours, we are proud to say we are a Discover Primary Science and Maths approved centre and schools can avail of a specially-created, day-long option that promotes science, technology and maths.
Every educational trip has access to our state-of-the-art Education, Conservation and Research Centre. It is a new purpose-built hub for learning features classrooms, breakout areas, an auditorium and facilitates lectures, and interactive sessions.
These supports encourage active learning for thousands of school children every year.

We prioritise the safety of all school children and their teachers during their trip to Fota Wildlife Park.
We havea number ofmeasures in place to make sure the Park is a well-managed and safe environment for all visitors including:
- Clearly marked walking routes, maps, and signposts to help groups stay together.
- Designated picnic and learning areas.
- Clear paths, barriers, and signage to guide visitors and prevent access to restricted areas.
- Strict health and safety regulations, with trained staff on site at all times.
- School visits are pre-booked and planned.
- Clear procedures are in place for lost children, injuries, or unexpected incidents, and our staff are highly trained to respond to first aid and emergencies.
