Enjoy a Full Day at Fota Wildlife Park
A visit to Fota Wildlife Park is the perfect choice for a full-day experience, making it a worthwhile family day trip whether you’re travelling from Cork or elsewhere in Ireland.
The main walking route takes approximately three hours, but families are encouraged to explore at their own pace. Take time at your favourite enclosures, let children enjoy the playgrounds, or relax with a coffee or meal at one of our on-site cafés. There’s plenty to see and do throughout the day for visitors of all ages
Family-Friendly Facilities for A Stress- Free Family Day Out
Close to Cork City, Fota Wildlife Park offers a wide range of facilities designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit for the whole family. Accessibility is a priority, and all pathways throughout the park are buggy- and wheelchair-friendly.
There are six disabled and wheelchair-accessible toilets located across the park:
- Two at the main entrance
- One near the Asian Sanctuary
- One at the Oasis Café by the lake
- Two in the Education, Conservation and Research Centre
Four manual wheelchairs are available free of charge from Reception, just inside the main entrance. These are subject to availability.
Our seasonal tour train can accommodate wheelchairs and buggies (buggies must be folded) and operates subject to capacity. For further information, please contact us on 021 481 2678.
Families are welcome to dine in our cafés and restaurants or bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the many picnic benches located throughout the park.
We also offer a 50% discounted entry ticket for a child or adult with special needs. An accompanying carer receives free entry. Please bring your Associate Members Card (such as the Rainbow Club), lanyard, or carer’s card on arrival. These tickets are available at the admissions gates and cannot be pre-booked.

Fota Wildlife Park offers unique experiences unlike anywhere else in Ireland. With some animals roaming freely throughout the park, children can walk just metres away from kangaroos.
Visitors can enjoy seasonal feeding times for popular animals such as penguins, giraffes, cheetahs, and red pandas, all included with admission. Our knowledgeable Rangers are always happy to answer questions and share fascinating insights.
For something extra special, book one of our VIP Experiences to enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour with one of our experienced Rangers. These guided experiences include visits to areas such as the giraffe house, stories from life at Fota, and opportunities to help feed some of the animals. These tours are very popular, so early booking is recommended.
Children will also love exploring, and the many information signs throughout the park help them learn about animals and conservation in an engaging and enjoyable way.
