Humboldt penguin

The Humboldt penguin, known for being a popular attraction at the park, is a clumsy walker on land but an exceptional swimmer. Its streamlined body shape allows it to glide efficiently through the water, reaching speeds of nearly 50 kmph with the help of its wings and webbed feet. However, the penguin is slow and flightless on land.
This medium-sized penguin typically measures around 70 cm in length and weighs between 3.5 and 6 kg. Its distinct black and white plumage, resembling the colouration of a killer whale, may serve to camouflage it while hunting for fish.
