Red panda

The red panda, also known as the firefox or lesser panda, is the only species in its genus. It grows to about 120 cm in length, with a tail measuring up to 60 cm. The red panda’s striking reddish-brown fur is complemented by black and white markings, and its eyes are notably dark and expressive. Females are generally smaller than males. There are two recognised subspecies: Ailurus fulgens fulgens, found in Nepal, India, and parts of China, and Ailurus fulgens styani, which is confined to China.
