Siamang gibbon

The Siamang gibbon, whose Latin name translates to "Dweller in the trees," is a large, tailless ape with black fur. It can grow to be significantly larger than other gibbons, with a body weight of up to 14 kg. This species is known for its upright posture and highly developed brain. A notable feature of the Siamang gibbon is its throat sac, which amplifies its calls that can carry over three kilometres through the forest canopy.
