Fota Wildlife Park Hotel Packages – the benefits

Fota Wildlife Park Hotel Packages -the benefits.

  1. An Attractive Package for your Guests

Holidaymakers in Cork will want to experience all that the area has to offer, and Fota Wildlife Park is an easy way to enhance your visitor’s stay with a day out that will create lasting memories.

A trip to Fota Wildlife provides great day out for people of all ages and is the perfect added value package to add to any stay at your hotel or B&B. Fota Wildlife Park is a leading visitor attraction in Co. Cork and Munster and attracts almost half a million visitors annually.

Surveys conducted by Behaviour and Attitudes at Fota Wildlife Park show that almost 80% of visitors say that Fota Wildlife Park was the reason for holidaying or visiting the area. As a driver to come to the Cork area, it makes a lot of sense to offer a Fota Wildlife Park package to your guests.

  1. Safe outdoor – great day out

Set on a beautiful island in the heart of Cork Harbour, visitors enjoy seeing the numerous free-roaming animals, such as wallabies, kangaroos, ring-tailed lemurs, and the many birds on the lake as well as the naturalistic open habitats for species such as Rothschild’s giraffe, European bison, Grant’s zebra, and the Northern cheetah.

There are 100 acres to enjoy, with plentiful walkways, lots of picnic areas and there are also two playgrounds located at the Oasis Fast Food Restaurant and at the main entrance to tire out the little ones!

Visitors should allow approximately two to three hours to enjoy the many species located on the African Savannah, Asian Sanctuary, the Lake area, and Palm Walk – all in the great outdoors, so be sure also to dress appropriately!

  1. Support Fota Wildlife Park, Support Conservation

Did you know that you will be supporting a conservation charity by visiting Fota Wildlife Park?

Fota Wildlife Park is a not-for-profit organisation and is part of the Zoological Society of Ireland. Its vision is to inspire people to understand and conserve the biodiversity of the natural world. Through long-established breeding programmes called European Endangered Breeding Programmes (EEPs), which are run cooperatively with other institutions around Europe and beyond, Fota is helping restore populations of some species while protecting the very survival of others.

Fota Wildlife Park also financially supports and donates vital resources to conservation projects in Ireland and abroad, such as the Irish Ladybird Research Project, the Natterjack Toad Head Starter programme, which returned 2600 toads to the wild in 2020, the European Life-funded Corncrake project, the Madagascan Pochard, and in Vietnam, the Tonkin Snub-nosed monkey and the Western black crested gibbon conservation – to name a few.

  1. Great location

We are situated in a prime location to compliment your hotel or B&B as a guest package and help market your business as a destination stay. Fota Wildlife Park is only a 20-minute drive from Cork City and easily accessible from all national road routes.

We also have a dedicated train stop on Irish Rail, which offers a hassle-free and more sustainable way of travelling, especially for anyone staying in the city Centre or in Cobh. (See www.irishrail.ie )

  1. Paperless package – no more printed tickets

Last but not least, Fota Wildlife Park has introduced an eco-friendly and efficient digital ticketing system for accommodation providers.  No more ‘hard’ tickets that have to be printed, posted out, and physically given to each guest.

We are delighted to launch our new Digital Ticket Booking System, which will provide you with a seamless and easy way to use and manage all your ticket bookings going forward.

Using our digital system, you can assign tickets to your guests in seconds! They will receive a link that will direct them straight to the booking section on www.fotawildlife.ie.

The system provides a helpful summary of existing tickets on your account too. This makes it painless to track how many tickets are available and how many have been allocated to your guests. This can be handy for keeping tabs on ticket supply to avoid running out. It’s that simple!
